Centennial Medal: Nominate an Albertan
June 8, 2005
LETHBRIDGE - Do you know an Albertan worthy of recognition during our provinces 100th anniversary? If so, consider nominating them for a prestigious Centennial Year recognition.
Lethbridge Member of Parliament Rick Casson is among the nominating partners of government representatives who will each nominate 25 outstanding citizens from within their riding for the Alberta Centennial Medal. This medal celebrates Alberta’s first 100 years by paying tribute to Albertans whose achievements have benefited their fellow citizens, community and their province
Criteria for the Centennial Medal include a broad range of contributions, allowing for the inclusion of a wide variety of Albertans. The following is a criteria guide:
• Individuals who have made significant contributions to the community and society through leadership, volunteerism or community involvement;
• Individuals who deserve recognition for outstanding achievements and whose achievements are appreciated by large segments of the population;
• Men, women and youth are included;
• Individuals must be living at the time of nomination;
• Nomination deadline is June 20.
Over 8,000 Albertans will be recognized with the medal for making the Province of Alberta what it is today, and to look forward and recognize those who are actively involved in building a bright future for Alberta’s tomorrow. The Alberta Centennial Medal is included in the Canadian Order of Precedence of orders, decorations and medals.
