Shovels in the ground for multi-million $Turin water project
Federal, provincial and municipal government officials gathered in the tiny hamlet of Turin today for a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark the construction phase of the community’s multi-million infrastructure replacement project.
The Turin Water/Wastewater Project, jointly funded by the three levels of government under the Building Canada Fund Project and the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund Project, brought together Lethbridge Member of Parliament Rick Casson, Little Bow MLA Barry McFarland and County Councillor Morris Zeinstra for the project start-up, which when completed will ensure that local water systems continue to operate in a manner conducive to the health of residents and the environment.
The wastewater system project includes the construction of a new wastewater collection and treatment system.....

$144,000 Investment directed to two environmental projects
EcoAction Community Funding totaling $144,000 in federal monies has ben designated for two new environmental projects in Southern Alberta, supporting local action to reduce pollution, improve air and water quality, and protect wildlife and natural habitat.
